Hey Ground Redeemers…so on my Garden Trends 2015 post from last week I mentioned that we had some exciting news to share. Well, one very exciting bit of news is that Redeem Your Ground is a finalist in several categories of the Hall of Fame Awards at this year’s Garden Bloggers Conference.

Anyway…this is pretty cool news huh?! So we wanted to let you know and to say thanks for your support this past year…as we’ve tried to find our voice and bring y’all posts that would help you and your families connect more outside at home. Please let us know how we could do that better in 2015. Seriously…please let us know. (You can either make a comment to this post or click on the Contact RYG link over there to the right.)

Speaking of support…clearly we’d love your vote in the three categories that Redeem Your Ground has been nominated: Best New Blog; Best Writing; and Best Graphics, Photos & Presentation. (Really we would…so click here…and vote for us if you don’t mind. And thanks to those who already have!)

Buuuuttt… if I’m really more about connecting y’all with great content…that would help you get outside more at home than I am about promoting myself and RYG…then the very least I could do would be to connect y’all with some of my favorite garden blogs that I just so happen to be up against for these here awards. So that’s what I’ll do.

BONUS GARDEN BLOG: Although not nominated this year…Lisa Orgler’s Garden Design + Illustration blog should have been. And now that I know about the Garden Bloggers Hall of Fame Awards, I’ll definitely be nominating her next year.Top Garden Blogs 2015 | Garden Bloggers Conference Hall of Fame Awards - Redeem Your Ground | RYGblog.com

Lisa is an incredibly talented landscape designer, illustrator, and writer. Please check out her blog…and her Etsy shop too. She has some really awesome garden-themed notecards, stickers, and prints for sale. If you’re the gardener type…or just appreciate great artwork with a warm, hand-crafted feel…you’ll especially like what you see.

After looking at these other garden blogs, I’m both inspired and frankly…pretty intimidated. But despite their being my “competition” (whatever!), I really think y’all should check them out…and start following them if they strike a particularly resonating chord with you.

Take care all,
Doug initial

I hope it works out, Doug. As for other blogs (besides RYG and Counting My Chickens, of course), I really enjoy reading Garden Betty. And, when it comes to keeping chickens, I’ve learned a lot from both Fresh Eggs Daily and The Chicken Chick.

Thanks Deb!!! And I’m w you on Fresh Eggs Daily…learned a ton from Lisa Steele. I’m sure you know it, but she’s speaking at the Garden Bloggers Conference. We’ve emailed quite a bit back and forth…and as you would imagine from reading her blog, she seems so very nice and very accessible. I’m sure she’d love to meet you in case you get a chance to introduce yourself. Take care Deb…and thanks again for your encouragement. Cheers, D.
