More about Doug Scott

Doug’s path to owning a landscape design firm is anything but typical. After graduating from Vanderbilt and receiving his MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, Doug worked with several consulting firms. Unfortunately ... although "successful" in many ways, this career path didn’t tap into Doug’s true passions for family, the outdoors, and of all things ... landscape design. So in his spare time he started creating outdoor living spaces for his friends that reflected who they were and how they wanted to live.

There’s more to it than that, but the impact that his efforts had on these families affirmed his call to take the leap of faith to start Redeem Your Ground | exterior design studio. Concurrently, Doug completed the Landscape Design Program at Emory University to complement his personal experience and natural skills in design and client engagement.

Since launching Redeem Your Ground in Doug has enjoyed creating one-of-a-kind designs that specifically reflect the families he's working with. His unique approach to landscape design and ... more ... his why behind what he does have not gone unnoticed. RYG  and his family's story have been featured in both Southern Living  & Growing a Greener World ... and the Scott's family, home & garden blog was voted Best New Blog at the 2015 Garden Bloggers Conference.
