[EXCITING NEWS] Apartment Therapy & RYGblog
I have some really exciting news to share. After a fairly random chain of events we got connected with the fine folks over at Apartment Therapy. It all started when Britt’s post on how-to-make Easter egg bird seed ornaments was curated on one of Apartment Therapy’s posts. One thing led to another and the next thing I knew I was talking to Janel Laban, Apartment Therapy’s Executive Editor, and Dabney Frake, their Projects Editor. (Come. On!) They were wondering if I would be up for doing a 6-part gardening series. (Well…um…yeah!)
Although I’m probably not Apartment Therapy’s target audience (said with an intended air of sarcasm), I have…well, through Britt…I have a ton of friends who are. So I was more than aware of it being one of the most popular, hippest home & décor lifestyle blogs. And this was only confirmed by the squeals we heard when we shared our news with said younger, hipper friends!
After talking with Janel and Dabney I learned that they are all about helping people live fuller, more intentional lives at home by creating beautiful spaces…just as their tagline suggests … “saving the world, one room at a time.” Which is so RYG – especially when you extend the definition of home to include its outdoor “rooms”. A match made in blogosphere heaven, if I do say so myself.
So with all of that, I thought I’d share the first two posts that have already been published on Apartment Therapy. The other four will be posted over the next several weeks.
Back Yard Triage: 5 Steps to Bring Any Outdoor Space Back to Life
On the Back Yard Triage post I share how I approach any outdoor project – for a client or personally. It’s first about answering the question, How do you want to live outside at home? Sounds simple…right? Unfortunately most people don’t pause long enough to fully answer that question. But once you’ve figured that out, everything else flows from there – more efficiently and very likely costing you a lot less time and money. Besides that, you’ll be much more likely to find yourself loving your outdoor spaces…and that’s what it’s all about. Right?
Flowers 101: The 4 Most Important Things Every Beginner Gardener Should Know
Then on my Flowers 101 post I share some basic, but incredibly important, information about how you can best harness the power of flowers in your garden. Starting with defining what’s what in the world of flowers…and then walking you down the path towards how to best care for your flowers, you’ll find some really useful information that will help make your flower garden bright, beautiful, and happy…and you too!
So jump on over to Apartment Therapy to see for yourself…and be sure to check back in over the next few weeks for the other four posts.
Take care friends…and thanks for letting me share our news,
