We'll elaborate more on how we're different in the What We Do section, but it all starts with who we are.
How Redeem Your Ground is different from other landscape design firms starts with who we are … the individuals who make up the RYG family. Before we’re designers or installers or bloggers or marketers, we’re first parents & spouses who want to help other families get outside more at home like we do with ours. From there our hope is that our consultations, designs, installs, and how we communicate & interact with you reflect that in every way. There are other differences that you can read about in the What We Do section ... but before you go there, we’d like to introduce ourselves.
Brittany & Doug Scott

Doug and Brittany live just outside of Atlanta with their two daughters, 9 chickens, and garden cat ... Baby Mama Kitty.
Feeling called to help other families redeem their ground, in 2012 Doug left corporate America and, with Britt, launched Redeem Your Ground — both a landscape design firm and family, home & garden blog.
While setting the vision for RYG, Doug also conducts the initial client consultations and serves as lead designer on most projects. He also writes for RYGblog & other publications and presents on all things RYG. With her keen eye for all things beautiful & a deep passion for family, Britt also writes for RYGblog while ensuring that the Scotts walk the RYG walk.
Holly Brooks
Design | Install | Project Management
Holly and her husband, Stephen, also live outside Atlanta with their two daughters, dog, cats, and chickens – where they enjoy their family vegetable garden and naturalized play spaces.
Not only does Holly have over 20 years of professional design experience, she has essentially been all things landscape and gardening since she was a teenager. Now, as Owner | Partner at King Landscaping, she brings experience and an academic background in horticulture, landscape design and construction to every project she works on. As a result, Holly's multi-tiered perspective has helped her create award-winning designs and develop "clients-for-life."
Doug and Holly met when Doug was taking the Landscape Design Program at Emory and Holly was one of his instructors. Very quickly they found that they shared the same passions for family, the outdoors, and intentional landscape design. So it's no surprise that once RYG was launched they began collaborating on designs and Holly & her crews would install many of Doug's designs.
Micah Smith

Micah and her husband, Adam, live in Franklin, Tennessee with their two young kids, dog, cat ... and bees!
Micah has been part of the Redeem Your Ground family since the beginning as a member of the team who created RYG's original website and brand in 2013. Those early conversations resonated deeply with her, and that connection grew stronger when their family grew from two to four.
She remained connected to RYG throughout the years while working as a full-time marketer and strategist at a Franklin-based Christian resourcing company (aptly named Seedbed).
These days, you can usually find the Smiths outside in the vegetable garden, cooking together in the kitchen (special focus on perfecting rustic sourdough), and splashing around in the pool. And yes, most of those are summer activities. In the winter, they wait patiently for winter to be over.
In the RYG world, Micah's working behind the scenes making sure you get the content you need, helping emails go out, and figuring out all the cool ways RYG can help even more people realize their dreams for what life can look like at home.

Mark Cuzzort
Design | Install | Project Mangagement
Mark and his wife, Allison, live in Smyrna, Georgia with their two young sons. After graduating with a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia, Mark gained invaluable experience in the landscape industry by working for some of the most elite landscape groups in Metro Atlanta.
This experience and knowledge, paired with big aspirations and an insatiable work ethic, became the cornerstone of Down South Design, which Mark founded in 2012.
Doug & Mark met when Mark installed one of Doug's designs for a mutual client. Doug knew right away that he wanted to bring Mark into the RYG fold after seeing the quality of his work, his knack to build lasting & on-going relationships with customers, and family-first focus.
