National Get Outdoors Day!

Vine_Center_Gold

Did you know that June 14th, 2014 is National Get Outdoors Day (GO)? That’s THIS Saturday people!  So what are you going to do to celebrate?  Since we’ve just recently learned of this great day, we at the Scott Household are still trying to figure out what we might do tomorrow to celebrate, but we definitely plan to claim this day and make it count!

This is a fairly new annual event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun…definitely in line with what we’re all about here at RYGblog.   We were excited to find out that this day exists and wanted to help spread the word.  Check out their website www.nationalgetoutdoorsday.org to learn more about their mission and to see if there is an organized event near you that you might be interested in participating in.

If there isn’t an event in your area…or if organized events aren’t your thing, just make a commitment to do something special outdoors!  We’ve made a list of ways we might celebrate GO Day and will take a family vote tonight to see what we’re going to do.  I wanted to share what’s on our list…hoping that it might inspire you to do something and GO too!  So fellow Ground Redeemers, take a moment to pause this Saturday from your usual weekend routine and get outdoors and enjoy some fun. Maybe it’s some special family time…maybe you’ll gather some friends to join you!  Just get outdoors and GO have some fun!  The fresh air will do you good!

And if you do GO, please come back and tell us what you did!  We’d love to hear of your adventures!  Oh…and we’ll be sure to let you know what we ended up doing too.

Hope you enjoy your GO Day!

Swimming that’s what we did! We love our pool and hanging out with our summertime friends!!! It’s summer camp and the “country club” all rolled up in one!

Heather…yes, hanging out w friends at the pool is one of our family’s favorite outdoors activities. In fact, that’s what we did this evening. Yesterday we went on a hike/walk…along the Chattahoochee. We had a great time…filling our souls, lungs, and hearts. Thanks for sharing Heather and I hope you have a great summer. Take care, D.
